I fell in love with Caye Caulker the moment I set foot on the island almost 20 years ago. We visited on vacation from Michigan and found a true “no shoes, no shirt, no problem” laid-back lifestyle.
Over the following years, we spent almost every vacation day on Caye Caulker until, about 10 years ago, my husband and I made our dream of living on a Caribbean island come true when we purchased an apartment building in Caye Caulker, quit our corporate careers, and moved to beautiful Belize.
For us it was not the first international relocation, since we had lived in Europe, the U.S., Brazil, and Mexico, but it was the easiest. With English as official language, straight forward real estate law, and a short flight back to the States in case of getting homesick, moving to Belize was smooth sailing.
I started in real estate when I owned a relocation company in Mexico and brought 15 years of relocation and intercultural training experience to the table when I joined RE/MAX Caye Caulker in the beginning of 2023.

In addition to real estate, my husband and I own The Gumbo Limbo, a small guesthouse in Caye Caulker, where we enjoy spending time with our two dogs and meeting guests from all over the world.

Caye Caulker is a small limestone coral island off the coast of Belize in the Caribbean Sea measuring about 5 miles / 8.0 km (north to south) by less than 1 mile / 1.6 km (east to west).
The center of the island is known by the name Caye Caulker Village. Our population of Caye Caulker is approximately 2,000 people today and still growing.
Caye Caulker is located approximately 20 miles / 32 km north-northeast of Belize City. The island is an approximately 45-minute high-speed water taxi ride from Belize City or an 8-minute fight from Belize International Airport with Tropic Air or Mayan Air on a small plane.
