I fell in love with Caye Caulker the moment I set foot on the island about 20 years ago. We visited on vacation from Michigan and found a true “no shoes, no shirt, no problem” laid-back lifestyle.
Over the following years, we spent almost every vacation day on Caye Caulker until my husband and I made our dream of living on a Caribbean island come true when we made our first real estate investment in Caye Caulker, quit our corporate careers, and moved to beautiful Belize.
I’m originally from Germany but have lived extensively in the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, and now Belize – so international relocation is second nature to me. Among all my moves, settling in Belize was by far the easiest, thanks to English as the official language, straightforward real estate laws, and quick access to the U.S.
My career began in Mexico, where I owned and managed a relocation company, serving clients from around the world. With over 15 years of experience in relocation and intercultural training, I’ve developed a deep understanding of what it takes to guide clients through the transition of moving and investing abroad.
In addition to real estate, my husband and I own The Gumbo Limbo, a small guesthouse in Caye Caulker, where we enjoy spending time with our two dogs and meeting guests from all over the world.

Caye Caulker is a small limestone coral island off the coast of Belize in the Caribbean Sea measuring about 5 miles / 8.0 km (north to south) by less than 1 mile / 1.6 km (east to west).
The center of the island is known by the name Caye Caulker Village. Our population of Caye Caulker is approximately 2,000 people today and still growing.
Caye Caulker is located approximately 20 miles / 32 km north-northeast of Belize City. The island is an approximately 45-minute high-speed water taxi ride from Belize City or an 8-minute fight from Belize International Airport with Tropic Air or Mayan Air on a small plane.
